Pune: Petrol will be cheaper by Rs 7-8 if petrol is brought to GST, but Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari has said that it would be possible if all states take the lead.

When we applied GST, we told that all the state governments should not bring the petrol and diesel under GST and it would affect the revenue of the government. But when asked about the financial advisers, he was told that petrol diesel prices will be reduced. If petrol is brought to GST, then the petrol will be cheaper by 7-8 rupees, Gadkari said.
But if it takes all states to take the lead, then it is possible, if it happens, Nitin Gadkari has said that the state government will not be hurt but revenue will increase.
